Perry Farms has some of the finest dove hunting in Mississippi and was recently featured on television by Magnolia Outdoors. The premier event is the annual Labor Day Weekend Dove Hunt, with hunters paying one simple fee of $100/person each day. Previous hunts have seen over 100 happy and satisfied hunters bringing in limits of doves from the Perry Farms sunflower and millet fields. During the Labor Day Hunt, hunters are assigned locations in the field, with the Sunday and Monday hunts general admission (first come, first choice).

This primary dove field is managed for both dove and waterfowl, with extensive plantings of corn, sunflower and millet. The field is bordered on the east by a treeline and levee of a diversion canal, on the west by bar pits with scattered trees and water, and is situated between the Panther Swamp National Wildlife Refuge to the North and the Lake George Wildlife Management Area to the south and west. Hunter stations are available along the bar pit shoreline, along the tree line, and among strategicly located plantings of corn and sunflowers in the middle of the field. Parking is available along the west levee above the bar pits

After a hot day in the dove field, hunters will want to visit the Lake George Grocery, conveniently located 2 miles west of the field on Satartia Road. The grocery carries an extensive selection of ice cold drinks, snacks, short-order grill, and air conditioned seating, just what the weary hunter needs after busy day chasing doves. A bulletin board is located in the store with pictures of the latest successful hunters and their trophies. The store also serves as the headquarters for all of the Perry Farms hunting activities. For hunters needing lodging, Perry Farms has a room that sleeps 4 availabe, $25 per hunter per night.

The Annual Labor Day Weekend Dove Hunt fills up fast, so be sure to contact Perry Farms to make your reservation soon, especially if you want a premium spot near water or one of the tree lines. DOVE HUNTING RULES: You will need to bring a dove stool, gun and ammo, appropriate camouflage clothing, Mississippi small game hunting license. Vehicles will NOT be allowed into the field. If you do not want to walk, you may ride your ATV into the field. Hunters may sit in the rows of corn for cover, but ALL ATV's MUST REMAIN OUTSIDE OF CORN ROWS. All hunters are expected to be familiar with and obey federal and Mississippi hunting regulations and bag limits, and follow safe hunting practices. Anyone not following these rules will be asked to leave without refund of fee and be subject to prosecution for violation of game laws.
