After a long day in the deer stand, hunters will want to visit the Lake George Grocery, conveniently located 2 miles east of Holly Bluff on Satartia Road. The grocery carries an extensive selection of ice cold drinks, snacks, short-order grill, and air conditioned seating, just what the weary hunter needs after busy day chasing game. A bulletin board is located in the store with pictures of the latest successful hunters and their trophies. The store also serves as the headquarters for all of the Perry Farms hunting activities. Hunters can pickup maps and brochures of the surrounding state and federal reserves, as well as swapping information with other hunters stopping by. DEER HUNTING RULES: Deer hunting is $250/person, $100 per inch after 19 inches inside spread. All deer hunts will meet at the Lake George Grocery before being taken to the deer stands. Deer hunters should bring gun and ammo, appropriate camouflage clothing, hunter orange safety vest, a Mississippi large game hunting license and appropriate tags, and proof of completion of an approved hunter safety course. Guides will ferry hunters to and from the deer stands. All deer hunters are expected to be familiar with and obey Mississippi game laws and bag limits, and to follow safe hunting practices. For those needing lodging, Perry Farms has a room that sleeps 4 availabe, $25 per hunter per night. |
